Fabric Fun - Vinnie Cable Take two inch squares of different weight, fibre, texture and colour fabric and turn them into sumptuous textured material that can be used for a multitude of projects. Great opportunity to use up even the most tiny scraps and utilise ‘difficult' fabrics such as velvets, synthetics, stretchy jerseys or slippery silks. The sample will be further embellished using various materials such as bits of packaging, sweet wrappers, paint and string. This is a machine workshop and a machine with a two-step or three-step zig-zag is required. |

Upside Down Appliqué - Marlene Chaffey This machine appliqué workshop is different in that you initially work from the back of your fabric. As you do not need to make templates for this type of work it grows really quickly. Tropical Breeze - Marlene Chaffey This small 13” x 24” quilt is in the style of Caryl Bryer Fallert. Marlene's original design highlights fabrics that grade from light to dark and from one colour to another. You could choose to use a shaded fabric or scraps for the ‘leaves'. The curved seams do not entail piecing and are easy to do by machine. This is a fast, fun and absorbing project for someone who wants to try something a little different. |
